"For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots"

This year (2023) is the 75th Anniversary of the integration of the US military. Executive Order 9981 signed by President Harry S. Truman, moved to integrate the US military which not only transformed the rank and file of people who served our country in the military, but it also integrated and transformed our society. Please watch "For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots" – a PBS documentary that details the military contributions of African Americans from the Revolutionary War to the present. The 4 chapters of the film are divided according to wars. Watching "For Love of Liberty" can help gain a better understanding of the complex and often painful history of race in America, and the ways in which African Americans have fought for their rights and freedoms over the centuries. It can also serve as a reminder of the importance of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of American society, including the military.
